We recommend wearing comfortable clothing. Also consider layering if the weather looks cool or inclement. Our tours will often incorporate short walks of boardwalks or out to scenic overlooks. Good footwear and an extra layer are always a good idea.
Our Private tours can accommodate the needs of any family expedition. That said on our regular tours there is not enough van space for strollers.
We can take kids as young as 4. We recommend the 1/2 day sunrise and sunset tours for those younger Expeditioners. Kids 6 years old and up generally do better on most of our trips. Ask your guide for a Expeditioners Workbook to help your kiddos learn more and interact with the experience.
The 1/2 day sunrise and sunset tours are around 4 hours. The full day Yellowstone tours are around 12 hours. We give our guides the flexibility to cater the itinerary the goals of the group, wildlife viewing opportunities and the change in daylight hours. tour durations will vary with those factors.
Anyone who spends time in the mountains will tell you that rain and clouds in the sky provide a dramatic backdrop to the amazing landscapes you will be traveling through. Wildlife is also sometimes more active. Getting out of the van may feel less appealing, but watching rain and clouds move over the mountains can be a pretty special experience
Car seats are available for rent upon request.
It is a time honored American tradition to dose off in the car as the wild landscapes of the American west pass by. We get our guests out of the van and interacting with the parks, we also know that a little car nap isn't reserved for just the kids.
We will get out of the van to experience overlooks, boardwalks and wildlife viewing opportunities. Generally the walks are short and non-strenuous.
Our trips will go rain or shine and as stated above a little rain and clouds may not be a bad thing. Reservations maybe canceled up until 48 hours in advance to trip departure. We do have a $10 cancelation fee that covers the fees associated with our booking platform. Large groups of 9 or more must cancel 7 days prior to trip departure.
