WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Scenic Floats: Mornings can be cool but it warms quickly as the sun raises overhead, so wearing layers is suggested. Please do not wear flip-flops, you will need shoes that are strapped to your feet. In the case of the occasional rain shower, we have ponchos on all the boats that work great keeping you dry. Since our experienced drivers stay with the vehicle, it is secure to leave any unneeded clothing on the bus you decide you will not need. We also include a great set of self-adjusting Bushnell binoculars for you to use while spending time with us on the river and recommend bringing cameras.
Van Tours: Layers are always a good idea, mornings can be cool and afternoons can be hot! Sunglasses, cameras, snacks, car seat if your child needs a safety seat. There are local companies that rent baby/kid equipment if you need a car seat.
Side by Side Rental Jackson Hole: Side-by-sides are open and airy, so keep in mind that early summer & late summer/fall can be cold and wet, so you will want to check the weather that day to determine the appropriate clothing. If there hasn’t been much rain the trails will be dusty, so just plan on wearing clothing you don’t mind getting a little dirty. We will provide you with a helmet and if you want to rent a cooler we have those as well!
WHAT TEMPERATURE IS THE RIVER WATER?
Scenic Floats: The water temperature varies. May and June you can expect it somewhere in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s. July and August mid 50’s to the mid 60’s and September and October back in the 50’s. One reason our season lasts as long as it does is because it is fed from a dam, the Jackson Lake Dam.
I WANT TO BRING MY KIDS….HOW OLD TO THEY HAVE TO BE?
We would love to have your kids join us but there are some age restrictions…
Scenic Floats: Children 4 and over are allowed on this section of the Snake River Float. They will also need a proper safety seat (not provided).
Van Tours: Children 4 and over are allowed on van tours. If you have any kids younger than 4 you will need to book a private trip. They will also need a proper safety seat (not provided).
Side-by-side Rentals: All drivers and renters must be 25 or older to rent & drive a side-by-side. All kid passengers must be able to sit with their feet touching the floor board of the side-by-side.
SHOULD I BRING A CAMERA?
Yes! You might spot wildlife and rather it’s a scenic float trip, van tour, or a side-by-side rental, you will see incredible scenery that you might want to capture.
Feel free to share your photos with us!! We’d love to see captured moments while on Teton float trips!
